Anyone who knows custom tomahawks, knows the quality and collector's value of Lonnie Hansen's 'hawks. He has been forging these high end pieces of functional art in his small Washington State shop for many moons. Very hard to find.
This is not some cheapo kit 'hawk.............it's the real deal.
This is a true custom hand made poll hawk.
Makers mark: L.C. Hansen on top of blade/head spine between haft hole and cutting edge.
Haft is also custom hand made from an exotic hardwood (I apologize, but I forget the species), which is partially wrapped in handstitched leather immediately below the head. It also has a pewter end cap and a raised/embelleshed band between the leather and the wood on the haft. Head is forged from a piece of 52100 steel.
A very stout piece worthy of being in a museum. It's a very nice sized hawk that is exceptionally balanced.
This has never been used - it's lived on display for it's lifetime.
