Bad back issues have forced my leaving knifemaking - but a few years ago I returned to music. I will trade this for a Jazz box (guitar). I'm interested in the following: Guild, Gibson, 70's Ibanez. 50's Epiphone. May also consider 80's Les Pauls 335s. If it is American made or Japanese or German (Hofner) let me know, I can only say no.

Description:

Basically unused since rebuild (bearings, gibs, hardware). Not a beater that sat out in the weather. No cracks or plating in the main casting. The flywheel appears to have been repaired, and a couple photos of this are in the Photobucket link. It looks to be an old, sturdy fix.

The gibs on the neck of this one appear to be removable/replaceable which is not usually the case with these. They have been professionally brazed in place - usually, they are just part of the neck casting. Talking to other owners, the best guess is that this setup allows a higher degree of precision with the path of the ram - not always the case with a Little Giant. It has 3 flat dies.

When I bought it, the hammer had just been set up to test it. To transport it, I removed the motor and some hardware. Because I delayed, I never got it going because of suddenly increasing back issues (even the motor is too heavy for me!) I have since given up the idea of forging any more.

I have this set up for chain fall access to a trailer load, but not a truck. A reasonable local rental for a forklift load at my place may be available - inquire

SOLD, GONE, etc...
