Utility Hunter made by Canadian Knifemaker Steve Linklater. It's done in hand rubbed CPM S30V that is hollow ground, heat treated to approx 58-59 HRC and cryo'd. OAL 9&1/16th, Blade length Tip to Scales about 4&1/8th, Blade Thickness is around .15". Black Linen Micarta scales, stainless pins. This is a lovely piece with really nice lines. The handle is super comfortable, you could work with it all day without fatigue or hot spots. Nicely ground edge and is crazy sharp. Would make an excellent bushcrafter, field knife, hunter, all around wilderness blade. The steel will have the wear resistance of some better carbon steels yet with more rust resistance. Excellent for a knife that will be exposed to water, salt, dirt, blood, and various other outdoor goodness.
I'm looking for a small customish fixed blade in a Kephart Style. Spear like point, handle slabs that continue into the finger guard of the knife. Nice oval shaped handle. Don't mind a scandi grind... not real picky about handle material although a nice maple handle is always attractive to me. Looking for something with between a 3 and 4.5 inch blade. I will consider 1/8th thick blades as they are pretty common but I would rather have something in 5/32. I just want something a little smaller than this. I EDC a Busse Badger but want a companion knife that could be used for smaller more detailed chores. I don't really need it but you know how that goes.
Either a knife like that or a Gransfors Bruks Hatchet or Axe of some kind.
Will also entertain trades for nice LED flashlights and maxpedition gear... I prefer OD Green but will consider all colors. I'll be picky on this stuff so no offense.
