*No longer for trade. I got a little time last weekend and finally completed the rifle. I think I'm going to keep it for a little while.*

I have a Turkish Mauser 8x57 that I've been tinkering with for quite a few years that I just don't have the time or ambition to finish. I bought the Turkish Mauser approximately 8 years ago. The last 6" of the barrel was ruined with rust but the rest of the barrel was in great condition. I had the barrel professionally shortened and crowned to 19.5" by Lauer Custom Weaponry, excellent work. I also had them mount a Weaver base #92A (Thompson Contender) scout style on the barrel. LCW charged me $110 for the work. I then decided I wanted to refinish the rifle so I had the metal parts bead blasted so I could have it parkerized. I never got around to sending it out to get parkerized so it's still in the white. I removed the base when it was bead blasted and I found a mistake that Lauer Custom Weaponry covered up when they mounted the weaver base. Apparently LCW's gunsmith buggered up one of the holes so he had to redrill a hole. This does not affect the mount in anyway and it is covered up when a weaver base is mounted. I also had a gunsmith bend the bolt handle, not the prettiest work but it's functional.

I've shot approximately 40 rounds through the rifle after it was shortened and it is very accurate with military ball ammo. I never tried any hunting ammo. With cheap milsurp ammo and a BSA red dot I was getting 2-3" groups at 50 yards. I'm sure with a decent scope and some good ammo this rifle could really shoot.

I will include with the rifle a Core Lite camo stock for a 98 Mauser. I believe the camo pattern is mossy oak breakup. The stock will need a little work to fit properly, a very little dremel work.

This would be a great project for anyone that wants a scout rifle and has a little time to tinker. I've just lost the ambition to complete the project. All that the rifle really needs is a new Weaver mount #92A and some blueing or other finish.

I can provide numerous pics via email. I can send pics of any area of the rifle that you would like to see. I would prefer a FTF trade in Southern Wisconsin, Madison/Milwaukee area, but I would consider shipping to an FFL or C&R FFL.

For trade I'm looking for:
-Keltec P3AT or P32
-other pocket pistol or revolver
-C&R handguns or rifles
-defense shotgun
-.22 handgun
-AR15 lower receiver

I'm very open to trade offers. If interested send me an email.
