Got a lightly used BM Offsider limited. I buffed the blade to take of the dull bead blast (stuff kept sticking to it) and just gave it a rough satin finish. Slide through material much easier when slicing now. Anywho... blade lloks good and is in great shape. No nicks dings or chips in the edge. Edge is perfect. It's been sharpened a few times. It's very sharp right now. Holds an edge for a good long while. I put some grip tape on the handle... I'll take it off before I trade it. Knife is in excellent shape... just used. This is the limited run made of N690 steel. Pretty sure that's the same stuff Extrema Ratio uses. I was impressed with the steel being on such an affordable knife.
Anyway, it's a great knife but it's more of a fighter. I'm looking for something in the utility category of similar value. Something with a 6" to 8" blade. Something like a Cold Steel Recon Scout or the like. Used is cool as this is going to be my backpack knife. I just don't want anything with edge damage as I don't want to take the time to fix that. No nicks chips or dings please. I can add a little cash if you got something like a Fallkniven or something. Drop, Spear, bowie point prefered. No tantos please. Single edge prefered. No serrations please. 3/16ths thick or above prefered. Just looking for a good quality mid line field knife.
Might also consider a good folder. Something like a Benchmade in 154cm Axis lock prefered.
I will try to get some pics up ASAP. If I don't get any bites... I'll probably just buy a knife I want. Seems a shame to put a user like this in the safe to never see the light of day again though so I thought I'd throw it out there.
