For trade only.
A unique custom handcrafted wakizashi. This functional one-of-a-kind piece is 31 3/4" overall. Blade is tempered 5160 spring steel ground in the hira zukuri style with an ihori profile. Blade is 21 3/4" long, 1 3/16" wide, and 1/4" thick. Full tang which extends through to pommel. Copper habaki (blade collar). Guard (tsuba) is brass and is 3" diameter and 3/16" thick. Pommel is brass 1"x 1 5/16" x 7/8". Handle is quite unique and is made from a polished ostrich leg bone with a sterling silver collar. The bone has some wonderful color variations, which gives it an aged look. Hardwood sheath with removable leather and brass fittings. Weight approx. 2lb 9oz.
The 5160 spring steel is heated uniformily to 1600-1700F, then quenched in oil @ around 1500F. Rockwell is between 52-56. There is no hammon line. This sword is good and strong and will hold a good edge. Sheath is rosewood.
I would like to trade for a nice fixed blade. Thanks, Scott
