Hi. I just wanted to kick the idea up of a backpacking trip here this summer if anyone would want to go. Maybe like 2 nights and 3 days long, and say 15 to 20 miles total.

Any number of good places to go.

If it is a weekend that I'm free, I would sure like to go. My son (18) will be in Pittsburgh most of the summer and might want to come along as well.
As plans come together, let us know what weekends you are considering.

Would probably be in Sept. The way it works is Labor Day happens and then any of those weekends after the holiday are good because most people go out on the Holiday. Increases the solitude potential!

If we went to Dolly Sods it's decently close to Pittsburg.

PS August would be OK too my main concern is the heat. It was so hot last summer that backpacking even in the mountains was too sweaty.

If I'm available, I'd be interested, always wanted to check out Dolly Sods, Sept. works good for me.

That would be a long drive from Missouri.

It would not be that far for anyone from eastern OH Southern PA, SE Maryland, or Western VA

HD, now that I'm in Norhern VA, I'm a lot closer. Schedule permitting, I'd love to go!
