This is all I need. Another hobby to obsess on. Guns, custom computer building. And now of all things, Khukuris!!!

Ordered and recieved a WW2 model with horn handle. It is just ..... beautiful.

Also ordered the video. All I can say is if you don't have it, YOU SHOULD!!! All I do is watch the video and look at my Knife. Makes me appreciate it all the more. If you are ordering your first, get the video with it.

Already here on the sight wanting to order another one.

When are the Aluminum WW2s coming in??
And all the others that are out of stock?

We are so happy for you! Enjoy! We know how you feel.

But this thing about the WW II intrigues me. JP has given us a lot to think about with his fine contributions about original WW I and WW II khuks. Now I'm wondering from which one of these old WW II models can it be said the "WW II" was copied? I haven't got a WW II myself (worse luck, as the old KPF does not allow it), but I think it heightens one's appreciation of what one has if the origins, background and comparisons are known. A comparison of the "WW II" in terms of size and shape with its closest original relative would make sense and very interesting reading...

A most excellent choice, Wazzup. If you think you like it now, just wait until you start using it. Maybe you can think of it as knife art in motion. The more mine get used, the more beautiful they get. One goes with me to the range, too.

You've even nailed the video thing. Impressive! Doesn't it really open up a whole new world that no amount of reading or pictures can do for you? I've lost track of the number of viewings, and I get something new out of it every time. I'd rather have a khukuri and the video than just two khukuris. And you got the "must have" one the first time out.

Johan: No WW2? Man, I just don't know what to say...maybe we oughta take up a collection to boost the KPF. I'm so sorry...I just didn't know. How can I be so insensitive? My deepest sympathy goes out to you, buddy. Just remember, we're here for you if you wanna talk about it....Dan

I'm crying in my sleeve for lack of an aluminium-handled WW II, Lt. Dan! They say this khuk has a wide flare at the butt, much like a cheetlang. I'm waiting for the day I'll see and appreciate it with my own eyes, KPF willing. But then, maybe I should be looking out for a .... (he-he-he). You see what the durned addiction does to a person?

The sad part is that I have footage of aluminum handles being made - but it's scheduled for volume II. Sorry, man!

Craig: If you're gonna string us along with morsels like this in the Gurkha Steel sequel video, then I hope you're gonna get the production in high gear and deliver ASAP!

Johan: That WW2 is bound to get a Pavlovian response out of you yet. My rosewood one is superb and the one with fancy horn is fantastic! Actually, I don't see how you can possibly get by without ONE OF EACH. Surely you've got to have all 3. Do it for the collection, man!

Lt. Dan, I've not yet quite finished with my doctorate in the History of Animal Physiology Experimentation, so I can only GUESS that a Pavlovian response is to drool at the mouth!? If that is the case, then YES.

I've taken the liberty of pestering JP to perhaps put in a follow-up pic of another few models of the WW II (the oldies) so that we can compare Craig's "WW II" with them. James Somoska of Florida has put in a pic of an old WW II in Knifeforum, with a wood handle which I believe is the closest comparison yet to what I THINK your "WW II" looks like. The models JP has provided pics of previously, do not compare well, to me at least. This knife of James Somoska has a rat tail tang of which the point is threaded and provided with a knurled nut to hold the brass buttplate and handle in place. Your WW II would, I think, have a handle of which the tang tip is peened over. (Drool.)

JP has kindly responded to my query. He is convinced that the rattail tang is peened over the khurled nut, which then must be regarded as decorative only. Until JP kindly lets us see pics of more WW II models than the three he has showed previously, I can only guess that the khuk showed in James' pic is representative of one more model that was used, and one wonders how many different models there actually were.

Wazzup, I hope you are not offended by the way I have barged into your thread with a few replies of my own, albeit reasonably relevant to the WW II theme... Sorry, man!

Not at all, I enjoy reading and learning
