Hello, I am in possession of an old Balisong for which I know from good authority was purchased somewhere in the pacific during World War Two by a soldier. Other than that however, I am unsure of its origin or history. The blade itself is in excellent condition, it has a very small bit of the tip missing and it may never have been sharpened (at least from what I can tell by its very dull but still existent edge). The handles have a few cracks but nothing that would compromise the the structural integrity. The handles are loose, they are on there but have a lot of both vertical and horizontal play. The blade has a dark natural patina but no significant rust or damage. I would love to ask a specific price but because of its unknown origin, I will let whomever the buyer is decide how much it is worth to them but I would prefer around $120 as this is a great piece of history and still a functioning blade.

Thank you,

The handles are made from what I think is imatation horn or bone

I used to collect balisongs. Those are probably jigged bone scales. The black inserts are probably buffalo horn, but could be celluloid. The cracks, wormholes, and excess play will detract from the value, but it's rare to find one in good shape. It is an interesting conversation piece due to the history.

Yeah I was hoping the historical value would be enough to sell, it seems otherwise. I am open to some trade too
