WWII Japanese Naval officer's sword - I'm not an expert, by any means, so only offer info. provided by those much more knowledgeable and, ultimately, to your perception as buyer...
Genuine to the period, with correct Naval fittings including the iron tsuba. Lacquer saya(scabbard). 25" blade is generally clean, with no nicks on the edge but just some very minor roughness in the forward area..which would come right out with a superficial sharpening treatment, if desired. The tang has what appears to be a possible signature near the rear, which is marginally visible in one photo. (I do have an additional Army-officer's-sword tsuba, offered $eparately, if you wish to achieve such a look - Photo available) The prices of these swords, especially in clean condition, has continued escalate considerable in recent years... This one is offered at a rather reasonable price: $550. shipped CONUS
