WWII Video Showing Survival Skills with Khukuri and Machete

Nice to see the video. That CBI piece is very nice indeed. I have one with, ahem, patina -- and beetle damage to the horn handle The scabbard has a CBI Theater badge attached. Love the continuous curve.

Thanks again guys, but as I said, the credit for the find all goes to Simon of Tora. The khukuri and video prompted me to go to the library and dig further into the CBI Theater. The fighting was horrendous.

Thomas, that khuk didn't see much use for sure:) The blade needed very little TLC, but the handle looked poor and dry. I soaked it in mineral oil and it came to life again. The sheath was re-covered in suede and seems to have much more wear than the blade. Probably from being tossed around in a plane so many times. Luckily for the original owner he likely never needed it. As a buddy who flew refueling planes said when asked about carrying a handgun in theater, "If I need a handgun, it's been a real bad day!" I imagine LtC. Rittenberry felt the same way about his khuk:D Take care.
