Hi Craig, with Christmas coming and the Chesapeake Knife Show just a couple of weeks away, I was wondering if you have an update on the rest of the original WWW III's? I would like to being able to do some budget projections.

Thanks,

Good question! I owe it to those of you who haven't received yours to "round up the usual suspects." Thanks for keeping me on my toes. It is a black mark on my conscience that this has taken so very long.

Please, please just tell me what on earth is meant by "WWIII"? I'm trying hard to study up on khukuris, but this one still eludes me. It's not listed in the GH website. I even looked at the scans of WWIII's in earlier topics, but what does the name mean? I can only see it as "World War Three"! (Pardon my abysmal lack of knowledge!)

World War III is correct. It's some of the forumites idea of what the Next Generation of A WWII should be.

Johan, the WWIII is a custom khukuri that was designed with input from us.
It is an 18" WW2 profile blade with a full tang as opposed to a spike tang. The blades were forged over in Nepal then sent over here for finishing. The handle slabs are made of micarta. The blades themselves have been hot blued. They are then fitted with a custom kydex sheith by Edgeworks.
Mine was bead blasted before it was blued to give it a matte finish. My handles are olive drab green. Some of the others were polished before they were blued and use black or white micarta according to the customers specs.
There were only 40 made. I don't know whether or not Craig still intends to make them a limited production item or not. If not, I highly recommend that you purchase a wood handled WW2 (or the blade profile of your choice) and have Craig send it to Edgeworks for a kydex sheith prior to shipping it to you. In my opinion the sheith is the best part of this project.
Hope that clears things up for you.

Hi everybody!

I turned into a khukuri-fan just 14 days ago, so this is my first post in this forum. So please forgive me for my clumsiness at this.

I have always been in love whith blades though.

A khukuri with micarta scales, on a full tang konstruction? Sounds like a good combo.

What´s the price-tag on a blade like that?

Is there any left?

Best regards.
