Anyone have any info on these people?

I made a knife kit order on Aug 3, 2007 and received an email giving me an order number and a link to track my package. After 24 hours I attempted to check the tracking number that was provided and saw that it showed delivered in Texas on 3/21/07. I live in CA and the package was delivered 5 months prior to me making the order. Must be a glitch?

I emailed sales@knifekits.com and did not get a response. I then submitted a "Product Support Request" from their web page and still did not receive a response. I called their support phone number and got the answering service to a web page supplier. I have checked my credit card and have not found any of the items charged yet. Some might have given up at this point but I still struggled on.

I registered on their forums and read what other customers had to say. One person had posted about a computer glitch and the person who runs the site gave an email to contact him directly. I did that stating that I really wanted to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible asked for assistance in trying to find out what happened with my purchase?

That was two days ago. Still no response...:thumbdn: At this rate my vacation will be over and I won't have time to make a knife.

I am checking my credit statements really closely to make sure that they don't charge me, but in the meantime I still don't have a knife kit to work on. Anyone able to recommend a really good place to get a beginners knife kit with much less hassle?

This isn't normal. These folks are top shelf. Must really be a bad computer glitch. I've ordered from them before with no probs, and plan to do so again in the near future. I hope they can get this straightened out for you before your vacation is over so you'll have time to tinker with the kit. I'll be watching this thread. Let us know how everything gets handled.

Darrel Ralph owns (or partly owns) the company in question and he frequents these forums. Hopefully he'll see this thread and jump to the rescue.

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry, but I don't often check the forums these days. Someone was kind enough to bring this post to my attention. This is not Darrel's fault, but ours in the Atlanta offices of KnifeKits, where we do phone sales and shipping.

As some of you know, we've been trying to acquire a new facility for the last 12 months to help us expand our kit operations. We were able to do this in the middle of July and the selling party wanted to close in 10 days, which doesn't allow for much in the way of pre-move planning, or anything for that matter.

Needless to say, we've been moving equipment, inventory and setting up the new location over the last two weeks. Our phones have been transferred, staff relocated, lights turned on, yada, yada, yada. With the exception of a few Murphy's Law errors, the move wasn't too bad, but we do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We'll now be able to double our sales and packaging staff, which we've needed for the last couple of years.

We'll be answering backed up e-mails for the better part of this week, so please be patient if you've written to us, and we'll get back to you shortly. If you need direct assistance, ASAP, do not hesitate to call us toll-free at 877-25-KNIFE (877-255-6433)

Thank you.

Alex
