WWYD? Being too picky or justified?

It is easy to miss a small detail. They are not Gods, just people!

They didn't miss anything, they knew the cover chipped out and instead of replacing it they knowingly applied a lame fix. Obviously to them that was an acceptable solution, is it to you? Not me, I say get a refund and move on.

Folks we all know what happens when we "assume".
(If not, PM me and I will explain. It involves use of words not allowed in the forum.)

Unless one is endowed with psychic powers, it is unwise to "assume" that we know why the knife ended up that way.

As it is, there is an offer of "refund" on the table.
Manufacturing and selling knives is business, and a "money back guarantee" is as good as life gets in that realm.

Thanks to all for your opinions.
I knew up front that I could get a refund, my real question was whether I was being unreasonable in my expectations, some have said 'yes', some have said 'not really'...that's all I needed to know. I had not considered that this filler might not have been apparent until the final polishing and that's the type of thought I was looking for, questions I hadn't thought to ask.
The vendor and I have come to an agreement and that will end the matter for me. He doesn't feel the need to 'inspect with a microscope' (his words) each knife that he sells; I feel that this defect was quite obvious without one, agree to disagree.
I'm going to lock the thread as I feel it has served its limited purpose.
Thanks,
Russel
