No special gloves. Just stubbornness. The blacksmith vise is invaluable in this process. It helps, not only hold it steady for hammering the mushroom, but allows one to keep the ricasso flat.

Lin Very nice Forging ...I like a handle shape that lets me know where the blade edge is .... With a grip like that i will always know just where the heck i am going with it ...
