Dude you are the rudest person I have come across on BF. Reading 2 of your recent posts have really baffled me. You come across as such an asshole frankly. Someone puts hard work into a passion of theirs and you insult not only the maker, but a fellow BF member simply saying they like the design. Freaking ridiculous if you ask me but everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose

You have made two posts of your 18 posts in the last few days castigating me....nobody did ask you to....for those of you that don't know the meaning of the word "jabronee" or "jabronie"....it is...."a friendlier word for "idiot".

I critiqued the piece originally.....and modified my post as it ran counter to what I am trying to accomplish.

I think it is a beautiful short sword, but would prefer it with some curve as well. I am not very knowledgeable about Japanese swords , but in my experience with quenching blades in oil, and water/brine, both horizontal and tip down, I have noticed that if you quench in oil, you get tip down curve, and water/brine will curve tip up. If you started with dead straight and quenched in oil, I'd expect some tip dip, which it looks like there may be from the pics.
I did a tanto and started with some sori, and lost pretty much all of it with a horizontal edge down oil quench......I should have went into the quench with more curve than I did.
As for Mr Garrson, I appreciate his knowledge of Japanese blades. His style of criticism I have come to appreciate as well, I just see it as part of his character. I hope he critiques any of my work that I post, even if I feel like I just been smacked in the head afterwards. Always a learning experience.

I can post wherever I like, whenever I like. I believe you changed your post because even YOU realized you sounded like a pompous, rude, anus quite frankly. Now I will however admit that you do seem to know what you are talking about, but when you make that known by acting like a nose in the air, ass clown (basically the typical person from Southern California), well then maybe I like to respond. And if ALL you can do is make fun of my SCREEN NAME.....well, please don't do that. It weewy huwts ma feewings. If I don't like what you say or how you say it, I can let that be known. I can say exactly what I think. Just like you can.

It is about the information, from where I sit.

I try to temper it so that it is listened to....when that does not accomplish the goal, I self-edit.....was raised in NY and sent to the Left Coast by the U.S. Navy in the late '80's....and stayed...but am definitely NOT a typical person from SoCal.

That insult aside....bringing information to the table first and foremost is what I try to do, and in that, ask....what do you bring to the discussions besides insults?

Kohai is like the white glove test of Japanese-style sword design. I've been locked up in fear for a week on whether to start the WIP thread I had planned for a titanium sword for him to test out and compare to other swords, because I know the blade is sure to get shredded. But I figure that if Kohai likes the sword at all despite what is sure to be takai kizu, and thinks it's at least enjoyable or cuts decently, then that is the equivalent of a huge compliment! After the trouble of making such a sword I would much rather prefer a blunt and honest critique filled with brutal adjectives than a high-five and a gold star, and that is why Kohai is perfect for the job. :D

Rather than hand out a load of infractions and editing this thread to keep it on track and respectful.....I'm just going to close it.
Some of you need to reflect on your posting habits.
