Xenforo Bug? Usernames with Apostrophes don't seem work properly

Spark I thought you would want to know. And anyone who will look to be accessible to others on the forum should know as well. As soon as I type the apostrophe when trying to use the ampersand to tag, or in a recipient field to start a new DM, the auto populate username function clears. I cannot initiate a DM with or tag member N Nate 's Knives and it seems like the apostrophe forces separation between the two words in his username. Toggling to BB Code doesn't populate the user code in the text field the way it does for URLs or text formatting.

Looks like it's a known issue that hasn't been addressed

Future fix - Mention autocomplete doesn't work in some cases where the username contains an '@' character

Nothing wrong with the tag, it’s the way you’re spelling it.

There’s no space between the “e” and the apostrophe.

I didn’t put a space when I was typing on my computer…. At the shop now and trying on my phone and Nate’s Knives worked

Weird.

You can see from my screenshots that the space was not there in my draft. The software added it.

Funnily enough, when you copy/paste the user name from Nate's avatar, you can both tag and search - while simple typing won't work most of the time. (in Edge, but I don't feel that matters).

Easiest solution will be to make Nate'e username grammatically incorrect.

I also used Brave, but on Windows 11. Should have said that.
