Cogito Cogito Ergo Cogito Sum

Mark, to make a long story short, I left it where I shouldn't have. When I went back to retrieve it, it was gone. I posted a reward notice for it, but to no avail. My heart aches for it everyday.

Didn't you know that knives have legs and feet? Haven't you ever heard the expression that a good knife walks and talks?

Too bad not everyone in this world can be trusted, thing is knowing who though!

Oh, and I like the low profile early style blade better. The large style looks to chunky to me.

Well I just opened the box from UPS and the knife I had just sent Darrel came back already! Within the week! That's some service! I had asked Darrel to thin the blade down for me a bit, it was one of the first of these and he said no problem, but he was pretty sure that the fellow who had the knife before me requested the blade to be thicker.
So he fixed me up and sent the knife out the next day, even wasped shaped the clip for me, nice touch. Very happy camper here in PA

The article covers some other new knife designs, and is very interesting.

The picture was done in very good taste, and has great background. Also Darrel's comments are very good in explaining the knife.

I like mine so much that I would like one of the smaller sizes, but can't talk my wife into a part time job to buy more.

Mine is not serial numbered, and not sure why being one of the earlier models of the ex. large, but is of no major importance, as I got it to use, and not for collector value.

I can say, the more I carry it, I more I like it.It fits my hand perfectly, and carries nicely in my pocket.I carry it daily along with my small Sebenza, and Umfaam, and can honestly say I use it the most.

As you can tell, I am pleased with mine.

The thing I like is, I called Darrel and talked to him, and he said down the road if I need it re-anodized, he will refurbish it for $20, anyway I believe the cost is correct. That is even-though I never bought the knife from him directly. That is standing behind your product, no matter who is the present owner.

That is the good thing about buying from good, well known knifemakers.Keep their customers happy.

Sorry about the babbling on....and on.....

Nice pic Dexter

Looks like part of my background I used for my Apogee pics ... great tastes, aye?!!

I don't want to sound like a bragger here, but I definetly like mine better because of the blade and coloring. I don't care for gold at all and I love wider, thicker, beefer blades. But hey, anything DR creates I can see is perfection all the way and you are only getting the best!

added: Course some folks may not like purple / blue colors ither, course I can't imagine why not ..... those are my favorite color blends!

ALso...Where did you get the laynard cord? Ive been looking for some of the multi colored one's but not much luck. All I can fine is a black, green and tan type.

Keith, thanks for the compliment, Darrel deserves all the credit of course!

The lanyard cord I get at a few different wilderness type stores here in Ohio.

Ohio Backpackers / Ohio Canoe, Newman Outfitters, and this particular cord I found at Eastern Mountain Supply.

Most of these types of stores carry good supplies of mutli color cords in various thicknesses. This cord was a 3.2 mm dia. cord if my memory serves me.

One tip though, if you find a particular color or pattern, buy enough of it, because it is rare that the store you find it at will have the same exact one later on down the road. The colors and patterns change contantly. This blue with purple and green in it I haven't been able to find since I bought this about 6 months ago. I do have about 3 feet of it left though!

My neighbor stopped over last night to show me his new digital camera he just got. I took three pics of my XL Apogee with it. I think the original pics I posted which were done on a flatbed scanner shows much more detail, but the pics from the digital camera shows more of the purple colors that this knife has. Here are the two different pics of the same XL Apogee.
