My Voyager xl arrived, a very strange affect it has - all the dimensions are clearly provided so you know precisely what you have purchased but when you first see it for real you go holy faark, that's just freakin ridiculous.

I have had it all day and it has got no less ridiculous.... I still get shocked when I see it .

Having said that here is a review of sorts;

Thin behind the edge flat grind I believe, experts plz correct if that's wrong. Such a thin blade with that much weight, size, length and momentum to handle makes for a cutting machine.

The pocket clip works great and within 10 minutes I can click it open with one hand almost as quick as any flipper knife. It did cost me a blister on my thumb tho as the thumb screw is aggressive.

The action is very smooth has a nice but loud noise when snapped open - sweet music.

The common meme about too large in your pocket is bullshit. I wear loose fitting jeans and this thing disappears in them. If you didn't carry anything else in your pocket you do not even notice it.

This is the sharpest new knife straight out of the box I have had.

Although I am one hand snapping it open for shits and giggles I don't recommend one handed close, the risk of injury is too high. That blade could easy shut on your fingers and keep going.

I can't tell g 10 from micarta from any other synthetic so it's just another plastic handle to me.

The build is superb.

This is the best value for money knife I have ever purchased and the most solid build given a thinner type blade.

I highly recommend this knife, forget the horse shit about too big too carry. It's surprisingly an easy unobtrusive pocket carry unless you are one of those modern metrosexual males with the tight spray on nut hugger pants.

The long multi grip handle increases the effective length of this knife to be effectively a micro machete.

That's about it, one happy camper here.

Glad you like it. I’m fond of my XL clip point too. Smooth deployment and manageable lock disengagement. Satisfyingly sharp out of the box too.

Saw your other thread by the way. If you’re really into XLs, then you might enjoy the XL Recon 1 over the Lawman. Happy hunting, partner. :)

It's BF's I'm surprised the board software recognises the word word excessive.

Congratulations on your purchase. I am genuinely curious; what are some cutting tasks you perform with a folder this size? My Military is too big for me to carry. Maybe I need to get woke on big folders. Thanks.

Does it take relatively little effort to open with the thumb stud or is it kind of stiff opening new? I like my CS Spartan which got easier after a few weeks. I mean with using the thumb disc. No problem waving though.

Hey man. I’m not the OP, but I’ve got a Voyager XL too. My unit opens relatively easily via thumbstud. As long as you don’t get a dud, you should be golden.

I wouldn't trust a car review from someone who can't tell race slicks from all terrains or a skillet review from someone who can't tell teflon from cast iron... glad you like the knife though.

Fist off. Picsoritdiddnthappen.

Second. Now her screwed, you'll just want one more then one more then o e more.

Third. Buy the ex el espada.

I enjoy my xl voyagers all the time. I've got a full serrated plain edge vaqueros and a half serrated tanto.

Love em. 20200617_222537.jpg
Wednesdays carry

I find it very hard to believe you can't tell the difference between them and actual plastic. Have you ever had either?

Never owned them. To me there is wrapped para, naturals and everything else is just plastic.

I'm a simple man.

Action is hella smooth and easy, there is a bit more inertia with the added mass and you have to gain new muscle memory because the angles are different.

There is more wrist than thumb.

Glad you're enjoying the XL! They're really something else.

I love one-hand closing my CS folders because they all have a sweet spot -- usually demarcated by the front portion of the front-most finger choil -- where you can safely let the blade drop free provided you set your index finger right there. They all break in so nicely, too, that free-dropping them is its own little pleasure. :)

Some pics of CS mega-folders, because this thread needs more pics. :D

Yep great knife although I have to disagree about the clip. It needs work unless you want to destroy your pocket. The scale texturing is aggressive. I sand it down and also bend the clip a bit to reduce spring tension.

XL espada 7.5 inches?? , That's XXL. The Xl Voyager is a paltry 5.5 inches

Probs get the xl espada as well.

That XL Espada... I've been wanting one of those for years.

This is only the large. The XL is an actual pocket sword. :D

I don't own one of those, although I'd love to; I just can't justify the expense for something that would be solidly in novelty territory for my needs.
