I just added these new blocks to the web store.
Very nicely figured blocks of Mango from Hawaii. They are all oversized and have been professionally stabilized by K&G.
Very flashy figure with a lot of movement when the light hits from different angles.
This sort of wood has been really popular with the Hawaiian Luthiers. Now it is really catching on with the knife makers.

Click on the photo to go to the Stabilized Wood Blocks section of the store where these new blocks are located. Then select the sub-category for Mango.

Just picked up another block. This is my favorite wood! Here's what it can look like at 1500 grit with linseed oil and white compound finish. The movement of this wood in sunlight is unreal. I keep this knife on my desk and never cease to be amazed by how lively the mango looks.

KalEl,

I just ordered a block and it's all your fault ( ;

Curly mango is a beautiful wood; it reminds me of oak with alot of chatoyancy. Here is a nice Kephart that Chris Bowden of KFU knives made for me awhile back with some of Mark's mango.
