Hello,

I took apart my XM-18 to look at the parts etc. To get to know the knife better. But, when I put it back together, the centering is completely off. If I want to the knife to be centered, it won't even deploy. Any advice?

That is odd. Sounds like the stop pin might be pushing out on one side. Can you share a pic of the spine with it closed?

In these pictures I loosened the pivot just enough so it would deploy, and it is completely rubbing against the g10 side. LMK if you need a different angle or a picture of specific part.

Definitely the stop pin. It is poking out on the left side in your 2nd pic. Loosen everything up just a little, take a pencil eraser and move it over until you hear or feel it pop in. That should put everything back to normal for you!

When I tighten the pivot, that goes away but I can barely if at all deploy the blade. I also here this weird rattling noise near the pivot when I shake the knife.

That noise is the stop pin shaking because it is either loose or not in right.

I took it apart again, made sure it was in properly and all fixed. No rattle, centering is back & so is deployment, thank you so much man. I figured out my mistake when assembling.
