XM-18 lockbar question

I did a search but could not find a definitive answer.

When I grip my recently acquired XM-18 3.5" the lock bar moves inward a bit and settles in. It kind of drives me nuts. Is this a common occurrence (doubtful)? To me it seems that there may be something wrong with the lock geometry on this particular knife and that I should send it in?
