xm 18 price

Supply and demand is a funny thing. But I havent come across anything I like as much as the xm-18.
So I paid what it took to get one. Then I got a custom ground. They go for around $1200. Think I'm gonna let it go
soon. Great blade, cool to own...just too much money to feel ok about actually using it. The production I'll keep and
use forever. Still expensive though. It's an amazing knife..

I think it's funny how I see people selling their xm18 or xm24's for 1100-1300 on here and on ebay, and nobody buys it. I understand the concept of supply and demand, and how it affects the price, but people trying to sell these knives for 2-3 times what their MSRP's are is ridiculous.

I like to think that some of these sellers you describe are the guys who just paid $1100-1300 for the knife and then got slapped by reality.

I just paid more than that for a riding lawnmower to replace our mower of 17 years that finally took a big dump. I was able to get a neighbor to buy it for $100 to part it out. He has a small repair shop but nothing like we needed available.

I paid $999 for the old one and it was much nicer, more heavily built and had more features than the new one, Istead of getting a comparable mower we downgraded and spent about 1500 after taxes, really getting stuffed over the inflation that occurred during the years we owned it.

Laugh if you will at an XM-18 selling for $700 (let's get real - highest I've seen is $750 for a production model on the exchange).

The mower story is about build quality ratio to money spent. I'll pass my XM-18s & XM-24 down to my kids and their kids when I'm gone and truth be told, if I wanted to bust up an XM-18, I'm quite sure I could baton it almost all the way through the center (weakest point - foot area and deck) of the new lawnmower. ;)

I just jumped on the Hinderer bandwagon last night. Over in the classifieds someone listed an XM-18 3.5" for $575 and I went ahead and bought it. I was sitting there wondering if I'd paid a it much for it when 2 other people chimed in after me to get seconds and thirds in case I didn't follow through. Guess I got a decent price after all.

Now to find someone who wants a red scale so I can swap out. ;)

That was you! I was right on the trail but checked the page after the feeding frenzy was already over. I'd have snagged it up. Welcome to some serious addiction and congratulations on your 1st XM-18!! :D
