Hey there guys I have a VECP and a chance to get an XM 18 which is a grail of mine. Well to be honest the VECP is a grail also. I was wondering do you think it would be a good swap to trade my VECP and $200 for a nib XM? let me say that there is no possible way I could ever afford an XM any other way than to do this. I just want your opinion on this guys I am sure I will regret getting rid of my VECP but dang man I can get a XM for 200 bucks if I do. Let me know what you guys think.

I would much rather have the VECP.
XM's just don't do much for me after I actually handled a few.
Plus, there are so many better options available for much less money.

I have never handled a VECP, but they look nice.

On the other hand, I own, among various other mid-techs, a 3" slicer XM-18 and a 3.5" spanto XM-18. I can say that to me, the Hinderers are worth every penny I paid. Smooth, bank vault solid, and sharp. And, you can change scales on a whim to fit your mood; I have multiple scale colors for each knife, including CF (all Hinderer products).

My hands are on the small-med size so I pefer the 3" for EDC, although I like the spanto blade style better. Slicer is sharper, though. Forgetting price, I can think of no knife other than a Sebenza that comes close to F&F in a hard use knife, and my XM's are smoother openers.

Hope that is useful.

I've had a few VECPs and was very underwhelmed by them. One had a very sticky lock, the other had blade play in both directions, and both were brand new. I have two XMs on the other hand, paid secondary prices for both, and feel they are worth every penny. I know many love the VECP, and the ergos are great, but the XM blows it out of the water in my experience.

I do love my VECP it may be a freak or whatever but it makes my Sebbie look like trash as far as the action goes and lockup. I have never had a chance to hold a XM but it has always been my holy grail. I want one so bad I can taste it. But I really love my VECP also!!!!! I am just leary to trade something I love for a blade I have never touched in my life know what I mean guys!!!

Too bad dealers don't have any in stock, or you could buy one, try it, and return it if it doesn't rock your world. Sounds like you already have your Grail. XM's are not for everybody.

Double tap. I hate that.

Personally, I'd do it in a heart beat. I briefly owned a VECP, it is a nice knife, but no where close to being in the same league as the XM in my opinion.

Please don't tell Les George I said that, keep it between us. Thanks.

If its your only way in, go for it.

I own a VECP 2.0 and many other nice knives, but XMs are my EDCs and the others are comfortably chillin' @ da crib.

Les is a great guy!!! The VECP is an excellent knife! I know your dilemma, but my above advice is still my opinion.

The one I have a chance to get is the exact combo I want too!! Its a 3.5" spanto flipper!! I just want a blade that will last forver and take living with me forever lol.I am not hard on my knives at all I just want one that's built like a Glock that will always work and last forever ya know what I mean.

I think that's what I will do!!! Thanks for all the help and kindness brothers. I just wish I knew what they are like I have never even held an XM before. I have huge hands and short fingers and the VECP fits me like it was made for my hands, but I just have to have a Hindy !!!

I've had both..two VECP's. The XM just didn't have enough detent for me...personal preference. Either way, Les isn't going to do any more VECP's for a while so I'd keep my VECP. You can ALWAYS pick up an XM.

I'm posting something on your visitor board.
