Hi guys, I am debating between buying another XM18 (Spanto) or buying an FXM
if anybody who has either can weigh in on if the FXM is too small
I also feel the FXM may be a little overpriced for what it is, sub 4in S35vn fixed, but it may be a good urban multipurpose or camp knife

thanks

I would say if you do not have an FXM, I would get one. I don't think they are going to be around long and they actually are really cool in the hand. Plus the sheath is now becoming available and it works great with the knife. Either way you go, as you already know, you are getting a bad ass knife!

The FXM is a great idea for folks that love the look and shape of the XM-18 but want something more sturdy. It's also available in the traditional Spanto grind which is cool. The knife is a solid chunk of S35VN but it does feel a bit small if you are looking something to use for batoning, chopping etc. I personally think mine is a bit small for my purposes. All Hinderers are probably priced on the high side but the brand name and level of demand vs. supply has supported those prices in the past. As Whitty mentioned the production may stop and create scarcity which is always a consideration for these smaller volume high demand knife brands.

P.S. Mine is for sale [emoji1]

I agree. The FXM is ab awesome knife.

Try and handle an fxm if you haven't. I have both, and was really surprised at how thin a fxm feels compared to a xm. The fxm almost feels like a skelonized knife, like something akin to Chris Reeves Professional Soldier. On the flip side, pun intended, I find the xm easier to hold and use. Of course the fxm is lighter and although longer, I think easier to carry. That settles it you need both ... they are both great knives!, albeit expensive as already noted.
