Xmas gift for a few non knife guy friends?

Kershaw crown from walmart is pretty sweet and only like 10-15 bucks. I got one of the blue ones and have been really impressed with it. Nice f&f easy to sharpen (looses the edge kinda quick but what can you expect for that cheap) I got it with the blue handle which is a walmart exclusive but Ive had a lot of people comment on how nice it looks. Been using it as my beater at work for almost a year now and the lock up is still rock solid. Definitely gives me some confidence in the Chinese Kershaws.

Kershaw Tactical Pack with Kershaw Brawler, a flashlight and a pen. At your local Mall-wart in their holiday package boxes in the outdoors/knife section. I've heard a lot of places have now sold out already even though there have been a number of haters. I figured they would sell pretty well, given the massive sales volume of the Crowns last year, but it still surprises me they are selling out this quickly. So other people must be thinking it is a good value for a gift as well.

There are better knives for about the same price (Skyline and others), but the SpeedAssist seems to draw people in. Serious users may see it as a bit of a novelty, but it's that novelty that attracts non-knife people but will get them in and interested in other knives both assisted and manual. As Bob said, the assists last so I wouldn't worry about them breaking right away.

Wal-Mart :)

Kershaw cryo if you're really feeling generous. But the kershaw crown would be a great choice. I've given one as a gift last year.

A.g. russel ultimate penknife or the larger versions of it. Titanium vg-10 20$ enough said

I'd agree with a couple people here on getting a Kershaw Skyline or the new Tactical Pack if they are up for it.

Kershaw makes some really good budget offerings.

SAK. Super tinker or alox cadet/farmer.

Inexpensive, low maintenance. Easy to carry and people friendly so they don't feel self conscious with it. Also has more tools so it will be used more often. This is important for converting non-knife people into knife people. The more it gets used/needed, the more it gets carried and a SAK does more most of the time unless you need a work blade.

My advice is to give them something that they'll carry! An SAK "Alox Farmer," a Leatherman Micra, or a Kershaw Skyline. Do yourself, and the knife world a favor and buy "In-House" or USA made! In-house as in Victorinox knives are made in house, BY VICTORINOX. Leatherman is made in the USA BY LEATHERMAN, The Skyline is an incredible value on a USA made knife of its kind.

SAK Classic. They call it a classic for a reason. Even my non-knife wife EDCs one.

Small, classy, cheap, utilitarian. If you want to class it up, you can get the Alox.
