xy vise for drill press suggestions

I'm thinking about getting a xy vise for drill press to allow me to use as a spotting holes for wood. I have no experience with this, what is good enough for a vice, what cutters to use or if it is a bad idea altogether. My drill press is a Jet floor model, has very little run out, but I'm sure it is not up to the really good ones for quality.
Any experience you could share would be most helpful. Thanks much and best wishes.
Note: I was able to find info relative to milling with a press and it does not seem to be such an good idea. I will be using it to spot holes for drilling.

If it were me, I would get a small cross slide table and then mount a vice to it. Grizzly sells what looks to be some decent ones from the $129 to $150 range and they all look to be more precise than the cross slide vises I've looked at. Mount a vise on the table and you're good to go, plus now you have a table you can mount parts to with the vise removed if needed and you are more versatile in what you can do with it. That's my plan if I ever get a big floor model drill press.
