I got my BK9 Combat Bowie last week and I'm impressed. It was hair popping razor sharp out of the box!!

Here's some pics I took over the weekend.

Nice Pictures! This is the next knife on my list. Need to add it to the rest of the BK&T collection.

Nice knife, cool pics.

That one is on my list to get.

Yep, must get around to picking one of those up.

Careful wiping that grease off the edge. I got a little careless wiping my Patrol Machete off with a paper towel. The result was a nice little slice

Nice pics!

I just got my BK-9 and didn't know the presence of "cosmoline" was a regular occurrence. I thought I had just gotten a messy one.

It is a cool blade.

Thanks guys! I was thinking I might have gotten a bit carried away and posted too many pictures.

The BK9 Combat Bowie is an awesome piece. I took it out yesterday and cut through a 4x4 eight times and it was still shaving sharp! This thing can really hold an edge.

I need to try the beer can chop with it!!! :D How's it done? Do you just fill an empty can with water and make a diagonal cut through it? If done properly I understand it should be able to chop the upper half off while leaving bitton free standing.

Yojimbo,
NIce pics buddy! Keep it up!

The coke can test is a lot of fun...simply take empty soda or beer cans and phil them up with water. then place the can near the edge of a board and attempt to cut the can in half, leaving the bottom still standing, with water in it, on the board. If a large knife like the BK9 will perform the test, it shows dam good edge geometry, and a bit of skill on the users part. Too thick an edge will create too much drag as the blade passes through, and knock the whole can off.

Have fun, and plan on getting wet!

Will,

Thanks for tips! What sharpener do you recommend using for BK9?

Would you be able to describe the heat treat process the BK9 goes throough or is that info confidential?

Thanks again!
