Y'all gonna think I am nuts

And in my case, housing. My kids are grown and out on their own, so despite OWNING a four bedroom house sitting on 10 acres in the country, my wife and I moved to a 2 bedroom apartment in town. That has led to us downsizing and letting go of things we once needed…and some things we thought we did.

Thats a good progression of life. We moved from a 3 bedroom three level home in Maryland to a 2 bedroom one level home in a 55plus community in Georgetown Texas. We were moving ourselves and Karen and I both agreed that if it didn't fit in a 16 foot Penske truck, it wasn't gonna go. We got rid of ton of stuff, most of which we were not going to need in a warm Texas climate. Parkas, boots, snow shovels, long underwear, and other stuff.

Now our little one level two bedroom home is actually sparely furnished and our personal possessions are minimal. Its really easy to find something now,

Great choice, that one's really classy looking.
I'm glad the box continues to benefit people.
It was a shame when the first round ended and a few members gladly helped me reboot it in short order, I can't believe it's gone this long but I suppose there was just that one wrench in the gears before.
I'm not actually sure if this is really the same GAW going as I know it got split into two awhile back, but the idea is still going strong regardless and that's great.

I don't think anybody could fault ones Victorinox choice, they all offer a lot of utility regardless of which you choose even if it's not one of the currently trending models.

Actually there are two active box pass arounds goin on.
This one, which I won recently and will be sending back out next week.
And a case specific box that someone just won last night and I think is shipping out this morning.

Figures I'd get the sak out of the box
Been eyeballing a bantam (along with a cadet) for awhile now

Yeah the case box is a seperate thing.
Awhile back though somebody divided the GAW box into two because it had gotten kind of big and I'm not sure if the other one progressed or not.
Either way it's done a lot of good in giving people an opportunity to try different knives.

Btw J jackknife
Dan wanted me to say hello
(Silenthunterstudios)
And that he has been thinking of you lately

You talked to Dan? For real?

A very good guy, Dan and I had some great lunches as I showed him some of the lunch places Karen and I found on our Vespa scooter rides in the Maryland country side. Especially the BBQ at the Lisbon Grill.

The only thing I miss about Maryland is the friends I left behind fleeing the state.

On Facebook, yes
We still interact

And he was concerned he hasn't heard from you in awhile
And I mentioned seen you real recent on here
So he asked me to post you a message

Please forward my regards to Dan next time you 'see' him. Tell him I miss our lunches and conversations, and I haven't been as active on the forums as I used to be as the knife thing has faded for me.

So
I've noticed that the bantam has some slight blade play (the combo tool is tight as all get out)

But I don't wanna risk damaging the olive wood scales
Any suggestions on how to tighten the pivot without damaging the wood scales
With no bolsters to protect the scales I am very leery of messing with it

Slight blade play I'd leave alone. Not worth messing with, and because of the way the pivots are set in the bushings, I doubt it will get any worse being used as one would use a pocket knife. Use, but not abuse.

Hey, a little extra clearance lets the oil flow down around the joint better. Think army issue 1911A1.
