First off I hope you all can forgive me taking up the space.

I posted awhile back that I would be in NC for the month of april for the Marine Corps Championships, well I got noticed by the Marine Corps pistol team and am in Quantico, Va for the "summer team" Every year the shooting team will pick so many to fill up thier ranks for the competition season with a shot at becoming a permanent member of the team. I am stoked about this opportunity, I'll be shooting Nationals at Camp Perry in July and Inter service at Fort Benning....sometime.

To make this survival related, this California boy is having to adjust bigtime to the crazy weather out here, Exofficio boxer briefs are a Godsend

Semper Fi and Godspeed to you all

Congratulations!

I hope you get the chance to enjoy DC and the Shenandoah NP while you are in Quantico!

Congratulations, pistol shooting is not as easy as everyone thinks I shot competitively a few years ago and loved it, it taught me a lot about what can go wrong when your under pressure. Beretta 92?

Congrats and good luck! Try to get out in the woods some while you are here in VA, lots of nice places to take a break.

Also, thanks for the heads up on the boxers, I have been looking for a good pair for hiking and those seem to fit the bill.

congrats on getting picked. pistol competition is fun. i used to shoot with a group of state troopers that were on the chevrolet competition team years ago when they would practice. these guys were really good and its not easy like knifenut says.

Hey - Jarhead - that think in your hand in your avatar - is NOT a pistol! ;)

Beer-rah.

But it sure makes the pistol range a lot easier.

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.

Grunt, did you get to take advantage of the MWR stuff while you were at Lejeune?

thanks guys!

River-8, she's at home wiating for me, thanks for following up and I'm sorry I didn't get back to on it.

Visited DC last weekend and saw all the war memorials the white house, licoln, the smithsonian, and a few very nice brewery/resturaunts, had a delicious barley wine style at old dominion called millenium.

Unfortunately those were two of my 6total days off this summer so I doubt I'll be seeing much more of the state

knifenut1013, I'm shooting a Hammerli .22, USMC caspian wadcutter .45 with irons, and a National Match Berretta 92. my best scores for a NM course are a 297-34 for the .22 292-32 for the .45, and a 289-22 with the Berrettafor anyone who knows the NRA scoreing system.

again, thanks for the kind words. I hope to get picked up for the team once the summer is over

Congrats! That's no small feat... Shoot straight and come back here and tell us about it...

Semper Fi, Devil Dog! Do they still teach BRASS (breathe, relax, aim, stop breathing, squeeze the trigger)?
Good luck and keep them in the 10 ring!!!

That is a big achievement and very few get opportunities like this. Take advantage and enjoy it; there's a lot of talent out there and you are definitely in the running. This will also open a lot of doors...one thing I can say about my cousins, the Marines, they know how to shoot and do it well.

How do you like that Caspian .45?

Good luck and keep us updated,

ROCK6
