email on jange & 15" hanshee

Dave (aka "Great White") ;) , sorry, but there's been some mistake. That horn handled jange was supposed to be mine. For that matter, my second choice was that beautiful hanshee. If it's OK with you, I'll just email Uncle Bill and get this whole mess straightened out, OK?

Thanks for understanding! :D

Regards,

Norm

you know boys, generally i'm at work when these blems come out. but for some reason i decided to drive the 25 minutes home for lunch today. combine that with the fact that Uncle posted @ 12:30 instead of the 1 pm.

it was karma boys.

p.s i 've been a bit down lately. i want to move to the states for a better job, maybe Virginia or Texas, but my wife is deathly afraid of you confederate folk. i've been to Virginia and loved how friendly the people were. i hope one day to go on vacation to the Lone Star state.

but that's a whole can o' worms.

:D

Come on by Ohio Dave...and er...bring your knives with you. ;)

I was young and didn't have much say in the matter, but FWIW I'm very glad my folks moved from Calgary to Texas back in the '80s. Even though Alberta is much more like Texas than Toronto is like Texas, it just suits my temperment much better. Come on down and have a look at least. If you don't end up liking Texas, there's at least 20 other decent states around.

Lived in:
Arkansas - Hated it
Mississippi -Loved it
Alabama -Don't remember it
Kentucky- Will likely die here
Louisiana - Too drunk, don't recall.

Been to:
Texas, Nice, but the girls look like armadillos
New Mexico, I spent way too much time backpacking
Missouri, Drive through, see Texas
Kansas, Nice towns, good and flat. Might be good for varminting
Georgia, Atlanta is hell
Florida, Pretty Girls, Cold beer. Too much sand
Indiana, See Texas
Illinois, Terrible gun laws, stay in Canada
Tennessee, Nice place, no income tax
Oklahoma, See Texas (except the NDN ones you know)
North Carolina What is that clear stuff I was drinking?
South Carolina Pretty beaches, pretty girls, too much sand

I vote for Kentucky. Home of bourbon, race horses, and fast women. Besides we have a nice Arms Museum now, and the Kentucky Military history Museum in Frankfort is pretty nice too.

Dear 45-70,

Man oh man, you are a man with considerable "cajones". The girls of Texas and Baja Texas (or better known as Oklahaoma) look like Armadillos?
Plus Indiana..... :D

Pardon my interruption, and no offense intended, but as an ex southern man, I beg to differ

i got me a damn pretty wife. good looking girls are irrelevant.

Are you dead man??

A good thing, further south you go, the hotter it gets. ( yeah yeah, until you hit the equator).

I will change my earlier comment to "many of the ones I saw looked like Armadillos".

Come to Ohio Dave - *Don't* bring your knives. :D

NEVER confuse Texas with the confederate states.
We are a separate nation unto ourselves and a different culture altogether.

May I ask why you want to try Texas so much ?

Did someone tell you something? Just curious.

Texas is hot and dry, but we have the best BBQ on earth.
Dallas women are super cute, but stuck up and snotty.

We have Six Flags over Texas, very much an adult-oriented theme park.
(very few kiddie rides, almost all of them are big and scary - like me.)

No state income tax, concealed weapons permits, several large renaissance festivals, national parks, mule deer, alligators, the alamo, a long beach/coastline. (lots of red snapper fishing)

Negatives: football mania, lots of transplanted northerners, 100+ degree weather in the summer, too many state troopers...

Might i suggest Indiana;) It's really not too bad here. Hot summers, mildish winters (at least here in the southern part of the state). But don't come if you don't like humidity. It gets awful muggy here in the Ohio valley. As far as i know, there are 3 major cities in the state to pick from...or farmland. People are pretty friendly, but they do run a wide gammet. Here in Evansville it's not uncommon to see someone arrive at my store driving a beamer only to be followed by a beat up chevy truck with an "R.I.P. Dale" NASCAR sticker in the "winda";) I love that about my town. The guy in the beamer is better for business, but the guy in the Chevy is "my people". My family came from nothing, but some of my fondest memories were in the back of my beat up chevy;). Don't ask my bride-to-be...she'll deny it.
I lived in Kentucky for two years in Murray (small town in the southwestern part of the state) and two years in Bowling Green (Corvette plant;)) while I was in college. Sorry, Kentucky, I love your lush woods and open spaces, but I just couldn't live in those cities any longer than a couple years. BG drove me nuts. 50,000 people using 2 roads to get everywhere;) Murray was great except the nearest mall and major shopping centers are 40 minutes away. Call me an artsy-fartsy snob, but the only place other than right here in Evansville that I could call home would be Louisville, KY, and that's because i really like the culture and fine dining there. My in-laws have a lot to do with me liking L-ville so much. The "civillized" me...think cigar smoking chimp with a bowtie;)
Anyway, Dave, pick any state you want. I think just about anyone of we forumites would love to have you as a neighbor.
Oh, one more thing about Indiana...no knife laws to speak of;) I usually come to work with a JKM, bilton, or sarge hunter (if i can figure out a better sheath) on my hip. It doesn't seem to bother the boss...but since that's me and i'm the only one here in the winter, I guess that doesn't count;)
