12 inch 13 ounce AK by Amtrak. 1% handle irregularity. Small fills on handle of karda and chakma. Otherwise 10/10 rig. Blem price = $50 delivered.

10/10 BAS spot on specs by Sher. Only problem with entire rig is grain lines on handle that won't go anywhere. 1/2+ shipping = $62.50

Another spot on 16.5" 1.5 pound WWII by Bura. Yangdu rates this a blem because the handle is not absolutely perfect but it' 99%. I rate it 9.99/10. Take it home for 1/2+shipping = $75

18 inch 21 ounce Kobra by Kumar. Same deal as above. 9.99/10 with slight handle imperfection. 1/2+shipping = $75

18 inch 30 ounce WWII by Kumar. A grainline in the handle that will never develop keeps it out of 10/10 category. 1/2+ shipping = $85

Call or email.

there a lot of interesting things
but I'm searching for a baby GRS or a M43 (rat tail tang)

but congratulation for pics and for this good deal.

who doesn't have a 12 inch, should get that 12 inch. They will never, ever, ever be sorry. Trust me on this.

it's very strange
but apparently today no one are interesting by the deal.
however it's a very interesting deal.
personnaly i'm waiting for a GRS or an M43 (rat tail tang)
but it's a good deal. ;)

I figured Rusty would be all over a 16.5" Bura WWII like a cheap suit on a used car salesman. :footinmou

Do they make pointy WW2s? I figure that if I couldn't sharpen it, I could at least poke holes in things. :)

I think my HIKV is in remission - no purchases since Khonvention. Though that month there were four. :D

The AK, BAS and WWII are whispering sweet nothings in my ear, though.

Help me out here please. I've always heard great things, but I've never seen an HI blade up close, the only Kukris I've seen are the cheap ones you've seen all over at flea markets and such.

Are the fit and finish good on these blades (besides the said blemishes)? What can I expect from an HI blade?

I've got a Cold Steel LTC, and it cuts like crazy -- will it get outperformed by the 12-incher for $50 that I see up there?

Two different tools, in this case. The 12 inch refers to overall length, not blade length. The LTC has a twelve inch blade if I remember right.
The description I keep giving people on HI stuff is they feel like new versions of the hand tools your grandfather had--better made than they have to be and like they're full of great stories.

The 12 incher makes a neat little camp knife. If you want a comparable khuk to your Cold Steel, maybe take a look at that BAS or the WW2---either one of them will blow it's kraton socks off ;)

I used to think my CS Ghurka was meaty until my 18inch AK arrived...

Fit and finish are good. Biggest problem is that sometimes the handles shrink a little bit, and the brass buttcap sticks out a little farther than it should. Also, sharpening on the last inch of tip is sometimes poor. Both of these things don't show up on all knives, and are easy to fix.

The 12 incher will probably feel better in the hand than the Cold Steel, balance wise, and may chop better on hard woods. I don't recall the specs on the CS, but my guess is that the BAS (British Army Service) or 16.5" WWII will be more comparable in weight and performance. The 18" WWII will completely dominate the Cold Steel.

Why don't you get one and give us a comparison field report!!!
