Yangdu's deals for 1/26-- Pix and good buys.

There is NO way anyone sent their email before me. _No way_. So that leaves my chicken mail server I guess.
Perhaps some people are not waiting for the special to show up. Uncle owed me a Sarge knife from the 12/2 deals, so this last week I asked him if he had a antler KK instead, and to put my money towards that instead.

You should try to outshark yourself with emails from two services to see who's faster. :)

I might just take one off your hands if you're looking to get rid of them... ;)

Phew! This looked a lot better the second time when I paid more attention while reading. Yvsa gets to keep both of his hands!

Sure, I have done the same thing, except then Uncle Bill wouldn't have listed it on the special and then immediately removed it and said it was "sold". He would have instead earmarked it for you and would not have listed it at all on the daily UBBB.

No, someone sent an e-mail either at the exact same time as me or afterwards and their mail got there faster. I have noticed that when I send through my work e-mail server that it does get processed and routed to Uncle Bill faster, which makes sense. Unfortunately I was home today. Just as well, as I had to squander the $30 on food instead! :D

Norm

I'm just kinda saying that people may see Uncle on the recent users list (as he prepares to post a special), and send a speculative note saying "If you have XX today for less than $YY, I'll take it", it can be waiting in his mailbox before he makes his post. The thrill of the chase is more fun though :D

I think some of the confusion/frustration IS WITH the ISPs.

HIs primary server is AOL. Sending an email, from AOL to AOL is like sending an Instant Message. As soon as it leaves your keyboard it is on the other end. No waiting or processing thru several ISP's or whatever , as someone mentioned 'stacking'?.
I've used AOL from the beginning of my internet experience, as I believed it to be 'user friendly'. I also have the advantage of no long distance charges for connection.
I have had my infrequent problems with AOL, but too lazy to relearn another system. If AOL problems become more frequent, I'll shop around for a local service.

From the time the thread posted to the time my mail was sent was _maybe_ 10 seconds. Tops. Only then did I write my "sent" mail into the thread. And I STILL missed out on the bilton!

Norm you have to keep the message ready to send, open in another window, flip over long enough to see the pic and them add to your message.

ak third from top""

to your previously prepared email...

At least that is how I do it when I have the time to expend...

I sat hitting refresh, clicked on the link as soon as it appeared. Spent 3 seconds cutting and pasting the item I wanted into an already prepared email, and hit send. For the same reason .. I decided to take a break .. wait until everybody already got what they want .. maybe they will be a slowing down phase .. then only I'll try to catch the UBBB and UBDOTD!

On 2nd thought .. maybe I'll make a special order .. it'll be slower .. but I can enjoy my midnight sleep!

Actually....

What happens in Reno is that all the emails are printed out on separate sheets, numbered randomly, pinned to a cork wall, and then an old Bingo machine is started, with the numbers called out until one corresponds.

This true unless one of the emails is from Norm, then his emails get a second, later drawing. :D :p

OK, maybe not. :D

Hang in there, buddy. The wheel always turns.

I'd be grinning to get any or all of those

the one that really, really draws me to pick it up
is that Kardka Special

the bell shaped grips are great
and that wood is beautiful
and not a bad blade profile sticking out of the grip

need a post from the new owner after that one comes out to play
