Someone please grab the cherokee rose before i lose all control and spend what i cant afford to spend now.
rick

List of things to do: Take Cherokee Rose to Pecos riverbank, pull out of sheath and say; "By God, Life's cheap out here on the Brazos."
Or was that the Pecos? No matter. Find a lonely stretch of arid riverbank in the South West and pronounce these fateful words.

It might help to discharge a Sharps Buffalo rifle for historic effect.

27.5 inch 26 ounce "Manjushree" sword. Why he called it the Manjshree I'm not sure.

What does "Manjushree" mean?

Manjushree = Manjushri, a Mahayana Buddhist Boddhisattva often referred to as the "Buddhist God of Wisdom." He is typically depicted wielding a sword (to cut through ignorance) in his right hand. Very popular in Lamaism (Tibetan/Nepalese Buddhism).

Ruel, Thanks for the info.
I just knew those guys had the true meaning wrong. :D

Thanks for the pic of the statuette. The swords definetly look alike.

Good question about how the kamis do a double edge?

Anyone else notice that the Osage Hanshee has matching K&C? Hmmm....

"Cutting through ignorance?"

Hmmmmm.

THAT could keep you busy!

Probably some laws in the way, too, but still....

That sword is incredible!

The thing that really turns me on is the fact that the first four inches of blade are identical to my favorite sword of all time, the Welsh Fusilier's Sword.
(some of you may remember that little saga)

I will buy the next one come hell or high water.

The sword looks like it has a double edged blade. It is about the size of a gladius.
I can't figure out how a kami can use the water pour method to harden the two edges, and also avoid any blade warp. Just in terms of timing, it seems impossible. Western double edged blades are through hardened.
Anyone know how these are hardened and tempered, and how well it works?

Differential hardening is possible on a double edged sword. Don Fogg made a celtic sword with an awesome hamon.
