Hehe. Feels good to buy khuks again. :D

EDIT: HIKV has bitten me hard over the past couple days. I blame Kumar!

Heh. So many Khuks, and yet this will be my first BAS. I always wanted to get one with a wood handle.

Should be fun. :)

O.K., Now that I've purchased the Manjushree sword, any info on it would be greatly appreciated. Also, was it a good price? This was truely an impulse buy.
The carved handle looked very unique. As they say,
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

As Sgt. Schultz used to say on Hogan's Heros, "I know nothink"...but I do think it is probably a great price because the other knives are really great prices. How can you get such craftsmanship for peanuts? I think the sword is very very very cool...

Beauty is in that handle. When you see it, it'll knock your socks off.

I picked mine up from the post office today and since today was a slow day, I played around with it a bit. It's lighter than it looks, probably thanks to those fullers. If you choke up on the grip it's fairly lively for such a substantial chunk of steel. Sliding your hand back shifts the balance forward for hard swings or chops. The guard looks thick enough to stop a car.

Watch out for the pointy end. Mine was quite sharp.

I see the night shift has it's share of sharks...good snags guys. Ang...continue to follow your impulses!

+1 ANG1: good score.

*continues swimming around Dui Chirra in circles*

How are Sgt. Khadka's Kothimodas? Are they made with silver on the scabbards? They seem like one hell of a deal.

what's up with the kothimoda scabbard? Yellow?

Congrats on the sword, ANG1.....quite a grab. Only a few have been made. We're all suffering jealousy pain......

awesome tool set on the dui churra. wow....

Looks like horn to me. We'll see how it looks when it gets here.

Been meaning to mail you back Dan but haven't been home much. I'll get to it soon.

Being new to this forum, and Khukuris, I'm still "feeling" my way around. From your comments, I assume that I done good in picking up the sword.
I didn't notice it on the HI website. Is this a special order item? What would the normal cost be? I've only been on this forum for about a week. So far, I received my first Khuk, a 15" AK, and have a Sirupati and the sword coming. Plus I signed up for a Foxy Folly. I must now stop, and smell the roses!!!!!

Yeah, you done good.

Manjushrees are really rare. Sometimes HI only sells special items here. Not on main shop page. This is one of those things. Just a great product that comes rarely.

These manjushrees are coveted. Sought-after. Definately worth it.

By the way, good to hear you're stocking up! :) You won't regret it.

HI's are the best. They're not some silly factory "tactical" mass-produced Stainless knife. I own plenty of those, believe me.

These are works of art that can outperform anything I know. And this forum is the best on the web. Period. We get pretty goofy, but we sure have fun! :p :p

Good steal, man. Glad to see another addict! :D

Consider,
given maybe 3 sold by HI so far,
and maybe half-a-dozen currently in shipping or the forge,
you have 0ne of maybe a dozen -real- swords of this form
forged in the last century or longer.

My estimates,
but I wonder if I'm far off ?

Here's some background on the name origin:

www.google.com/search?num=100&q=manjushri--sword+OR+manjushree--sword+

Yeah,
it's a beauty
I want one too,
but not this month...........
