Trevor - I'd just like to say welcome, and good choice on a first khuk. My 16.5" Chiruwa AK was my first khuk and is still the one I use most. (Usually because my coworkers steal the Kobra and 20" AK from me when we go out to work, but that's neither here nor there.) The good news is that you'll know very quickly whether to move up or down in size from there. The bad news is that you'll most likely want to do both. :)
