Yangdu's Winners for 11/11 -- Pix and some great offering.

How about the non habaki bolsters on those BDC's, with less cho creep. Ihope this trend continues. Wouldn't have thought that stag would look so good on a khukuri.

Oh well, when my villager comes in, I will be consoled! :D

The AK Bowie designed by Cobalt ( also known as the HI bird and trout knife ) is a good and useful piece. One that after a few alterations I like very much.

But the Cherokee Rose Scagel style Bowie is something I had to have sometime, sooner or later, beause my brother Yvsa designed it.

I would have loved to have seen it in Howard's hands in the picture he posted of him sparring with James Keating in the Riddle of Steel thread.

Yvsa told me he hoped it was all I imagined it to be. I'm sure it will. It does not have to feel right in my hands, it can be something that was made to be right for him. What I do require is that it speak to me of him. ( Bura makes blades that have spirit in them that speak to me, however, and I may be surprised! )

oh, you finally offered a sword that I really really liked.
Damnit, I need more money.
If you EVER offer another one, I will have it!
My precious.

I would call that a khanda or possibly a bena.
The firangi style hilt is not always seen on those blades.
The straight hilt like this one was more common in older blades, I think.

This has to be one of the most beautiful deals of the day I ever saw. The whole thing would be a fine collection in itself.
Rare, quality, beautiful weapons.

Samoand, if you ever decide to sell that sword, give me an email ok?

Sure thing, although I hope to keep it. Even though the thread about vulnerabilities of martial artists did strike fear into my heart :)

I have to say again, that khandar by Bura looks very good. Look at the lines of the blade, to think that this was handmade over a forge...wow.
