All right guys,
What is the beater that goes into your pocket when working out in the yard.
Mine is usually a Buck Odyssey or an Old Timer LB5. Although yesterday it was a Fury Hawkbill. So what is the beater you use out in the yard.

Mine is a Graham spearpoint - it finds it's way into my pocket most often around the yard. I've normally got a Sodbuster Jr and a multitool with me.

OK - I'll play - I usually have a Boker Cop Tool on my belt and my Millie for yardwork.

I beat the crap out of the cop tool and use Millie for cutting...:D

To be honest, a buck 110 that has the tip broken off. Of the 2 broken 110s I have (neither by me) the missing cm or less doesn't really affect this one much, and it is great to beat on.

really cheap jaguar butterfly. cheap so im not afraid to get it dirty and a butterfly always seems strongest to me

Interesting choice,
I have never really played with a Butterfly knife before, but I have heard that Bear makes a cheap butterfly that is supposed to be of fair quality. I will have check one out next time I go to Red Hill Cutlery.

I usually use a pair of semi-rusty throwing knives that I purchased on eBay for $5 about 7 years ago. I've taken the Dremel to one of them, adding a gimp little guthook for yanking on various things... like buried roots.

I've lately been using an old 110 knockoff with a broken (now sharpened) tip, similar to TheGame. Works great... but cleanup is a pain in the yea.

I either use a spderco endura or or byrd cara cara G10. I’ve used both knives quite hard. Though when I’m afraid that what I’m doing might damage the knife I usually grab the byrd. I do after all have a couple spares.

Serrated Spyderco Native. Used, abused, serrations half sharpened away, still absolutely no blade play.

My yard worker is a xikar 188. I've got a bear butterfly, the quality is good the only problem I have with bear is that most of their folders only have one pin on the handle scales. I live about five miles from their plant.

Really?

I had two, and both had all kinds of bladeplay in both directions when new.

Still work excellently though. I use the one I have all the time at work. Hard. Just use it like a knife, the tip is a little thin.

I grab the Native or an RC knife for light to medium duty outdoor work. The RCs are a lot more robust...but they arent broken in the middle to start with.;)

In the yard I continue to carry whatever I am carrying that day. Fixits and odds-and-ends cutting is why I carry a pocket knife, so if I had to swap out my EDC before working in the yard it would kind of defeat the purpose of having it in the first place.

On the weekends I usually have a large stockman in my front pocket and a one-hand opener in my back pocket.
