Well, all I have to say is, "Breathe Easy....where have you been all my life?!?"
Spent about 3 hours in the shop this afternoon grinding micarta, steel, and ironwood, and nothing but clean air in my nostrils and lungs. Didn't even catch a whif of smell or anything. And when using some WD40....couldn't smell it a bit. And I don't have a heat rash on my forhead and I don't have a semi-permanent line across the bridge of my nose or around my cheeks from the respirator. The weight of the unit really was negligable, and I was very comfortable after using it for 3 hours. It's nice to have the automatic face sheild protection as well.
I may have looked like a dork, but I was a clean-air breathing dork with no black buggers.
On a side note, I also want to add, "Scotchbright belts....where have you been all my life?!?" I'm actually using the scotchbright-like belts from Klingspore in medium and very fine, and they are a pleasure to use and make an excellent even and clean machined finish.
I'll stop sharing now and hop in the shower.
