I sent #161 for warranty work and got back #1127, so I don't think you got one of the last ones. I saw in another post Thomas said the numbers going 1000 is because of QC.

No clue. I read the posts again, and I still don't quite have it. I am just happy I got one.
Sounds, however, like you're right. Numbers went up to around 1200, and if 1088 is the total, quite a few did not make the QC cut.

My last fifty were almost all over 1000 and the highest number I had was about 1197 I think, do at least 1200 and I would guess 1500 or so.

For me, the 0551 is one truly awesome blade....can't wait for the 0561! I don't think there will be a better folder for the money.

#0886 Just came in the mail today...i have never been so excited to see a yellow slip in my box! ran up to the counter in full battle-rattle, handed him the slip and waited...and waited....and waited. seemed like 4 years before this guy came back! Ran up to my barracks room, didn't even take off my rain-drenched ACU's and opened the box. And boy, what a knife this is! beautiful stone-washed finish. cool looking g10, feels great in the hand. and it flips open with a lot of authority. i love it. doesn't feel to heavy in the pocket, but it does take up it's fair amount of space! but overall, i love this knife and i am excited to see what it can do! gonna be on me 24/7 for the next couple of weeks!
