YEE HAW!!!! Absolute Latest Update on 17" Special Foxy Folly!!!!

I was gone for a while, took the dog over too see if he would get along with our nephew's dog so they can keep Ace while we're gone on vacation come April. He did so all is set and he will sleep really well tonight. Their dog is a Boxer that weighs close too a 100 pounds and is solid as a
rock. :D
Watching Ace, our Rat Terrier, and Misty, their Boxer play was like watching a monkey on a football.

Anyway and too get too what y'all have been waiting for....I had written Uncle Bill/Yangdu a couple of more emails and while we were gone I had the answers from Yangdu.
Yangdu says she will get the kamis too weigh the Foxy Follys before they are shipped and that "Yes!" the kamis can keep them between 24 and 28 ounces!!!!
So looks like the prototypes will be the only heavy two, maybe a big plus for Dan and I as we are both Big Ol' Boys anyway.:D  ;)

I am still Psyched over these!!!! :D  :D

i dont' know about you guys, but i really like the phrase YEEE HAAAWW!!

covers all sorts o' things.

:D

Yvsa - use the email listed with bladeforums. Can't wait to see it! I'll send you my first impressions via email as well. :p

Yvsa,
A16" would be my preference :D Hey-ell, I'd be-happy with a 15 incher even.
Brian according too Yangdu's last email we don't have too worry about the weight.
As I stated above somewhere, "Yangdu says she will get the kamis too weigh the Foxy Follys before they are shipped and that "Yes!" the kamis can keep them between 24 and 28 ounces!!!!" that works for me! :D

Okay Dan. I can't hardly wait. Too Hell with President's Day and no mail service, Bring us our Foxy Folly's!!!!
I look for 'em Tuesday.:grumpy:/:D

Glad to hear that the kamis will be able to keep the FFs in the desired weight range. I have a 17" M43 that weighs 28oz, so I know its possible. Hopefully after these two prototypes they're have the weight and dimensions fine-tuned.

And I'm with you, Yvsa. Stupid Presidents Day. :grumpy: ;)

If the miniFF balances anything like the original, those are a scarry few ounces! Swinging the thing, it feels like it wants to jump out and bite off your leg! Definitely a tool that tells you how it wants to be used.

Looking forward to reports on the prototypes - maybe I'll start the Raman diet now just in case. :D

yvsa,

in regards to, "Yangdu says she will get the kamis too weigh the Foxy Follys before they are shipped and that "Yes!" the kamis can keep them between 24 and 28 ounces!!!!" that works for me!

does that mean we have a choice in choosing our ff within the weight range you specified? for example does that mean i can get to pick one that is 24 ounces when they come in?

thanks!

In a word, No. The reason being is that they will be shipped from Reno directly too the person who pre-paid and with Uncle Bill's health the way it is and Yangdu being his only caretaker it would be impossible for Yangdu too sort them out. Dan will be handleing the money end of it for Uncle Bill and Yangdu so they won't have that confusion too deal with.
Sorry.:(

What Yvsa said....

...AND......Dan is not interested in any picky-choosy stuff this time around....:( :footinmou

Yangdu will have the prepaid list in front of her so that as soon as they arrive, she can ship them out. Maybe I'll ask her to not tell the forum....so it can be its own surprise. :D (insert dastardly smile here) :p

From previous posts I know most on the forum don't want to discuss politics in Nepal. However, seems to me that this might be a significant factor in getting supplies to make this special order, and also might be affecting the work climate at Bir Gorkha. I think we all want to see this project done right and not be rushed, even though, at the same time, we want this tomorrow. What does everyone think?

I hope Bir Gorkha has enough political horsepower to work around this. I know everyone concerned would like to see the flow of products continue uninterruped - except the Maoists of course.

How does the prepayment work? I was just going to use the HI store to pay by VISA (I hate Paypal). Should we be doing something different, or just let Dan know we've paid?
Sorry if this was discussed elsewhere, I must have missed it.

And thanks, everyone, who made this possible. :)

Yes, it's possible there could be delays, or rushed work. Hence, the test the Yvsa and I are going to put it through. The kamis know they are "on trial" with this one - if it fails, they'll redo it and send 2 more until we get it right.

Prepayment = Do Not Prepay At This Time

When we're ready, I will explain everything.

Thanks.

Once again, Yvsa and Dan take one for the team. We'll have to see how the tax returns look if i'm on board for this one (buying a house in the next month). However, i want to say thanks to both of you gentlemen (and of course Uncle Bill and Yangdu) for spearheading this. Dan, I can only hope to have your energy one day. Yvsa, i really hope these prototypes are up to snuff. I know you've waited on these (how they are SUPPOSED to be) for quite some time now. fingers crossed:)
