Yellow Bone Lets See Them

Doug Add what are the details on your knife? Has it been rescaled or something? Some really nice wear & patina on that one I can't stop looking at it & the yellow bone is gorgeous!

Thank you for those kind words. Yes, it is the first pocket knife I bought with my own money as a boy, and the first one I have had rehandled.

Take a look here for the thread I began when I got it back last summer.

Since you began this thread with your rotten banana bone 66, I will say that bone was the inspiration for me to choose the marigold bone for the Colonial rehandle, from a knife owned by lambertiana. I was later able to buy that very knife from him, and here are a couple shots of them together, when I still had the rotten banana bone 66.

Very cool story behind that knife and what an excellent choice for the new re-handle!

Hear, hear!

Great idea for a thread, jkulysses!
I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's pics :)

As I was taking those pictures trying to get all the depth and detail the gec yellow bone really has to it to show up in pictures I started to wonder what other brands out there make or have made knives with yellow bone. It really is very gorgeous but I can't get a picture that truly shows the depth of this bone especially the more solid colored 76 Outlaw Jack. It looks much better in person I think. I've also noticed the 2 yellow knives are the first ones people are drawn to when I show them my traditional collection even people that know nothing about knives and don't really care about them seem to be drawn to these two and at least say they are very "pretty" lol.

Hehe, that's interesting, but I can definitely see why! I really like GECs rotten banana, wish they would use it more...
Another I'd be curious to see more pics of is the Northwoods Forest Jack in the yellow camel bone (not sure if there was more than one of those or not.....) - but if whoever snagged one, if you're reading this, I'd love to see more pics! :)

Here are mine. Sorry, no group shot...

First one is the rotten banana jack from Doug Add's post which I own now. I believe I am the fourth BF member to own this knife. Those other guys must be nuts for letting this knife slip away from them. It must be ugly or something...

When I met Christine Tucker a couple months ago at the Oregon Knife Show I told her that was what I wanted from them more than anything else was another run of the Rotten Banana Bone scales and some more jack patterns like the 66 and 76 jacks. she just smiled and said she really liked that run too.

I agree with the Yellow Northwoods Camel Bone knife I would love to see some good outdoor shots of that knife! Camel Bone in general is very interesting and appealing to me. I fondled a couple of camel bone knives at the same knife show and really liked them. Kind of surprised that bone isn't more popular than it is.

I won this 2001 Moore Maker #5203 at auction, and it just arrived. Jigged yellow bone, but with dark patches it's reminiscent of GEC's rotten banana bone. From back when Queen really made them right, this knife is tight and sweet.

They certainly must be :D but lucky you. Me too for that matter as I have No.21 bought from a forum member also, the only Rotten Banana in Europe I'll be bound.:cool:

Good thread this because yellow bone is rather uncommon, shouldn't be as it's really eye-catching.

All I have is the RBB 66 A Queen Heritage Woodsman as shown by another poster, and it's borderline yellow. A Queen Harness Jack that's sort of in the yellow frame and an RR locking Sodbuster yellow mark side, browner pile , if you get my meaning...:D

Thanks, Will
