What do you think? I've got a yellow Saver Salt, should i get the black or yellow Salt 1?

Depends on your use.

I prefer yellow for the salts as it makes the knife look a bit friendlier and helps me notice it if I drop it.

Black would work well if you didn't want the knife to flash around, or decide to carry it iwb.

Well, that solves that problem. All of the people I normally buy knives from are out of the Salt 1 at the moment. Guess I'll be waiting a while on that one. That's okay, I need some work done on my bike anyway and now would be a good time to do it. And for about the same price too.

Why get another black knife if you have a choice, the Salt looks great in yellow:D

Be flashy! Go for the yellow. Like Josh stated, it's easier to locate when put down.:D

Correction: the bike work cost less than the knife. :) I do think I want the yellow. Actually, I'm sure I do. Just have to find one. :) Just a question, how much bigger is the Salt 1 than the dragonfly? I finally saw a Delica in person today and it looks like the handle on that thing is way longer than the blade. I know what the specs are from the Spyderco website, but from a user standpoint...how much bigger does it feel? The Pacific Salt and/or the Endura is just too big and illegal for me to carry in WV. I'm hoping the size of the Salt 1 is like my Saver Salt.

The Salt 1's supposed to have the same profile as a Delica 3. It's a three inch blade, right?

I like the yeller one. After a day fishing, I take a last scan around to see if I forgot anything. the black scaled one would just blend into the lava rock that's prevalent where the fishing is great here! Now that yeller one shouts out at a glance don't forget me!!!

Unless you need yellow for high visability, I suggest black.
I have found that the yellow fades in time and shows dirt more.

Just ordered the yellow salt 1 pe...it will be here on Tues! yay! Can't wait to try it!
Thanks for all the great comments!

You are quite right, the yellow does show dirt more, but I confess that's kind of why I like it. Same thing with Orange. If I can see the dirt, I know that I've used it. On the other hand, the yellow handle bar tape on my bike will get replaced when it gets nasty. :) Thanks for replying.

Good choice. Every Spydie fan needs to try out some H1. :)

I honestly love the H1 steel. I'm almost a little disappointed because I wanted my Tenacious so badly and had such high hopes and dreams and fantasies of carrying it with me all the time and using it and such...and I use my Saver and my Dragonfly a whole, whole lot more. I'm convinced the new Salt 1 is going to make my Tenacious almost obsolete! but I won't part with it. ;)

Ok, it's decided. i've been trying to figure out if I'm going to start collecting all the spyderco models I can or if I'm partial to one particular type of Spyderco. The answer: I want all of the Salt models. Lady bug to Aqua, i want them all. And all in yellow. I'm loving the H1 and the knives I do have just feel awesome. After I get that, I'll get all the dragonfly's I can. those are the ones I love. I mean, I know it won't be a very big collection, but that's cool. I just love it. I might even try to pick up the black versions too. That should take me a while to pull off. and give people an excellent idea for christmas and birthday. :) Have a great night.

LOL! Sorry buddy...I say give it a try. They aren't as expensive as some of the other really nice Spyderco's out there, but they work hard! On that note I just want to say that I'm a little ticked off: I've been home all day waiting on my new knife and when i went to look at the tracking info for it, it said they'd tried to deliver it but I wasn't home. No they didn't!!! Grrr...I called and they are supposed to be sending it again today since the driver messed up or just didn't bother to deliver it. I'll let ya'll know.

A powerwasher will clean the handle up nicely. Also, if you want a black handle for working around water, get a retractable lanyard to attach to your clothing. Of course, you want a lanyard keeper with a low retraction force rated for the weight of your knife, so it doesn't come back at you if you drop it.
