Yellowhorses?

Sorry about the detour, imafritz. The knife looks like a Yellowhorse to me too. :D

I believe those are put out as kind of an entry level model to attract buyers that don't have the budget for the others.

Or, one could say it's a kind of a high-profit method of trading on the name by marketing to the masses of poor folk who can't afford the hand-crafted fancies but want to be able to say they own a "Yellowknife."

Call it, "Yellowknife Lite."

The Chevrolet Biscayne of the fancy knife world.

;)

All the "poor folk" need to do is follow e-bay offerings and you can sometimes get some of those $400-$500 custom Yellowhorses for less than the retail price of the Yellowhorse Lites. :)

:D I'm sure that is a Yellowhorse,I doubt if anyone would have the stones to put his name on a knife not made by him.I talked to one of the guys at his shop,he was out that day.If you ever need to know about Yellowhorse knives just go to the web site or call them, they are really nice people! If you see something you like just make them an offer, like they told me their prices are not written in stone.

Wow, alot of posts since I started this thread just before leaving work.

1st-dont worry about the detour-it was interesting. Wolf, are all those photo shopped or do you have them in your personal picture file or do you have a veritable zoo in your back yard?:)

2nd: Skyhorse, I agree, it would take some pretty big ones to counterfeit the Yellowhorse name.

3rd and biggest: The cutout in the scale looks lazered, I agree, and look alot like the 1 of 400 recluse, scorpion, timber rattler etc that you see on the bay so frequently. Not that there is anything wrong with that because several of those I find pretty good looking:thumbup:(other than voided warranty problem) but the question is, Is a lazored Yellowhorse really a Yellowhorse since he is a handcraftsman and that is what he is known for...customs....I dont think lazered scales are customs. What about you guys?

Fritz, I have five of the Yellowhorse "fancies", but I haven't ever been tempted by those in your link. They just aren't what I consider a real Yellowhorse product.

Yeah I dont think they would add to your collection Plum, like I said, there isnt a thing wrong with them but if they are Yellowhorse sponsored ,company/corporate product or something like that, I just think they should be marketed different. The guy has a right to make a living for sure, he just has such a stellar name in the industry...I dont know, it aint my call just my wandering thoughts.

Well, I guess they do what they have to, to make a living. David's son, Brian, has lent his name (as designer) to a line of Rough Rider (made in China) knives marketed by SMKW's.

Yeah, nobody goes into a profession to not make money.

Next question, does a yellow horse show a clawprint in the snow and does wolfdog have a picture of it:p:D;)

Being from the fairly frosty regions of the nation.....I do know that you don't eat the yellow snow and that horses make big round tracks with no nail marks.

Other than that......can't help.

If the horse has shoes on, it will leave nail marks. One of my wife's horses kicked me in the belly years ago (no shirt on at the time). It left the hoof print, complete with nail marks imprinted on my stomach for a couple of weeks!:(

ouch, when I made that smart**s comment I didnt realize it could be turned that way lol-well played boys:D

Pictures! Pictures!!

:D

I know my wife took a couple of pictures after she realized I wasn't going to die, but I have no idea where they might be. That happened sometime in the mid 80's. I never like horses after that!:thumbdn:
