  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Yep! I love this time of year in the NW.

Silvers are active at Yukon Harbor, and by the Bank in Old town Port Orchard. I even saw one fella fishing over at Toys in Gorst tonight. Fish jumping all over for the last few days. Hopefully get to smoke salmon soon.

There are some Chanterelles showing up in the Banner Forest

Are you sure he was fishin' by Toys, or just trolling?:D:rolleyes:

Funny, mushrooms are a weak point as far as ID for me (well plants in general), and I've never went after chanterelles. I used to go for those little ones out in the pastures in Burley when I was a kid though.:o

Tis is my favorite time of year up here as well. I went out scouting with a couple of friends today and saw over a hundred turkey, a hundred deer, and a beautiful 6X6 elk. Of course, they were all in areas where we couldn't hunt!!! :o

Funny that way. My buddy in Grapeview is spotting more deer in his yard since season closed in his GMU 9/20.

Looks like a great time.

Nice to see someone else from Washington on here. Though your over where I'd rather be.

I feel the same @ times. Up North of you is some great places for hunting and fishing. If only there was work over there.

I would love to hunt where FLIK goes scouting!

FLIX would like to go hunting where FLIX went scouting!

I had never seen wild turkeys before yesterday and got really excited when we saw the first group (flock?) THen we started seeing them all over - to the side of the road, in the road, in farmer's fields, etc. . . When we stopped to watch the first turkeys, we flushed a doe and fawn that were bedded down within a few feet of us. (They probably think we spotted them!) The only elk of the day was a beauty. He was out for a stroll and didn't have a care in the world. Life is good when you live in a spike only unit!
