Yes.. I’m a BM Junkie, & Finally Branching Out -- Need Some Help!

I was thinking of getting the CQC10 as well, until my friend had problems with his Super Roadhouse liner lock and the reality of how fast a Ti liner wears out re-entered my brain.

So I bought a Presidio lol
Just curious, how long has your friend had his Emerson? My Super Commander has been at work with me consistently for the last 3 years and like I mentioned before, it has seen some really hard use. No problems whatsoever with my liner lock and still plenty of life left.

Ahh I hate these reccomendation threads as much as the next guy, but just hear me out..

In a nutshell:
I have hit a stalemate with Benchmade. I have spent the last 12+ years loving, buying, using, my BM’s. I have found which designs work best for me, and which do not. I’ve made mistakes with some buys, and some I do not regret. Here’s the issue. I really, really, really, like SPEAR-POINT designs, and BM lack’s there of.

I have ZERO experience with other manufacturers (only experience with materials that I can carry over), but have found some that could be possibles. I would sincerely appreciate any *real feedback on these manufacturers (my examples below), and any you might have from personal experience. I’m looking for some kick-ass spear-point folders price not an issue. Thanks

Possibles:

1) EMERSON A-100 STONEWASH PLAIN EDGE

2) EMERSON CQC-10 (Uncoated)

3) HOGUE EX02 3.75" SPEAR POINT BLACK/GRAY G-MASCUS (Meh.. Coated :grumpy:)

Thanks!

Hey Meticulous, I've seen you lurking around the spyderco forum lately. Careful...you might get bit! ;-).

Caught red handed :D (and your fishing pics didn't help much ;)).

I cancelled my order for a Hogue the other day (some negative/mixed reviews, handle is chunky.. etc etc), and ordered a Spyderco Military instead. The Military has been itching me for years, and I'm really glad I pulled the trig on one.. Great reviews, slim profile, new blade design (at least to me, and isn't too far off from a spear design) and something new is what I'm looking for.

I now have my eyes on a 'para and I haven't even reviewed the Millie yet.. Dangerous lol

Thanks for all the comments, the decision came from years of intrigue, the simplicity of spyderco models is what sold me. When it said made in U.S., made the decision even easier.

Spyderco just released a special knife in memory of Frank Centofante and his signature was the spear point as is this special run.

Specs:
length overall 7.07" (180 mm)
blade length 3.02" (77 mm)
blade steel VG-10
length closed 4.05" (103 mm)
cutting edge 3.00" (76 mm)
weight 3.4 ounces (8.8 grams)
blade thickness 0.091" (2.3 mm)
handle material Titanium / Glass Fiber

That's a great looking knife! Thanks for the details, I've been bitten. Don't tell my BM compadres ;)

The Gayle Bradley is at the top of my list now. By all accounts it's really a helluva knife!

I've only had my Gayle Bradley for about a week now and it's superb. Uses CPM-M4 (3.5") and CF handles (CF / G10 laminate) with great texture. It's giving my favorite Spyderco Southard a run for its money!
