Got a new river knife in the mail for my wife's PFD. It's the CRKT Hammond ABC Aqua.
I like the design, and in hand, it feels very good. I'm still up in the air about the sheath though.
You have to adjust tension with the Chicago screws, and I've been tinking with different settings.
There's seems to be a fine line between too tight and too loose. I may have to set the screws with some LocTite at the "just right" point.

Here's a comparison shot with my water knife, a Benchmade H2O.

Show off those river/water knives!

I force myself to use it for lots of stuff tho, I paid way too much to only use it when I go to the water :)

ETA: I really like the benchmade dive knife, I don't know why I keep not buying one...

I used to have a Kershaw Amphibian lashed to my PFD but I got rid of it. I have to get a new blade so I'm curious to see what people post. :)

Love my SE Tasman salt. Always wanted to put a fixed blade on, but I'm holding off until my new pfd comes in. Nice pics so far!

Homemade kydex is working well after a year or two still, the FRN handles have faded on one side quite a bit though.

I've seen some folks post about using the H1 folding knives in a locked open position.
You just have to fashion a kydex sheath as though it were a fixed blade.

Here's the sheath for the Benchmade.

Spyderco Dragonfly in H1 - and a Spyderco Mariner H1 are my around the water knives this summer.

When around water, salt or fresh, I always have a SE Tasman Salt. Sometimes I will carry another plain edge knife too. Something with good corrosion resistance like a Delica 4 FFG in VG 10.

Thanks for the idea! Hadn't thought of that before.

Looks like you could see those handle scales from orbit, is yours the older version with the h1 steel or the newer model with the x15tn? Great looking setup you have there

I missed the H1. Mine has the X15TN. Zero corrosion around and in freshwater. I have not, however, had it around saltwater yet.
The shields fell out of it, and I had to epoxy them back in more securely. I thought one was lost, and BM was very good about sending a replacement. My son eventually found the lost shield.
I inquired about buying a spare sheath since I have two PFDs--one for touring, the other for fishing. BM just sent me a sheath. Great customer service on both fronts.
