Yes, the site went down. We're working on it.

Still waiting on the final verdict. Right now it's looking like some sort of application crash that rendered the entire VM unresponsive, the VM itself sent out no alerts or messages warning what was happening.

BladeForums is running on a virtualized machine? I'm curious on the hosting specs and such. Is this stuff posted here? What do you guys use for monitoring the vm and applications?

Believe you me, when bladeforums goes down, Spark hears about it instantly from a couple hundred of us that are online 24/7 :D

You can't beat that for a "monitoring system" :p
 
When we switched to this service from dedicated servers in Oct / Nov 2008, I was promised repeatedly that all of our downtime issues were a thing of the past. If anything, we're having more problems now than before - and I've paid for extremely high end machines. I'm pretty pissed about how this has been handled.
