here's some pics from yesterdays walk in the woods.... we have a big state park across the street from our house, i've posted some pics of it in the past, it's called Henry Cowell redwoods state park..
it's got some mondo redwood trees there... they're rediculously huge...

our friend Brandy and her new little one came by.. we packed some lunches and headed out...

check out the little dude standing next to this one...

Great pics Mike. Those Redwoods are amazing. When I get out there, you're gonna have to take me to see those things.

The lil one looks like he is growing an inch with every post you make. He'll be taller than you soon!

Those Redwoods are AWESOME .... lucky guy to have a state park "across the street"

Great pics Mike. Those trees sure are amazing. Looks like a good ol time.

Glad to hear you are liking that Tyson. I thought you would dig it when I had the passaround one.

Cool - I'm surprised that you are allowed to crawl into that depression under the tree. Neat that the park allows that kind of thing, or at least I'm inferring that they do given the way the little fence is constructed. I sometimes get a bit frustrated with the way some of the parks are run, almost like museums. I understand their concerns about traffic and damage, but I really hate those places where you have to walk on a designated footpath that is sometimes a wood platform. Its almost like going to the zoo. Okay - sorry about the rant.

Great pictures and your son looks like a cool little dude.

Great pics Mike! I dig threads like this, it's almost like I can be there without driving. I woke up to a half inch of snow on the ground this morning. Ick.

It's still fall where you live??

It's full blown winter up here in Minnesota!

Nice pics Mike! I love that Breeden of yours.

Nice pics Mike... We should schedule the next meet up at your place. BBQ and chopping and maybe a hike...What you think?

Wow. I need to get back to Northern Cali someday soon. A decade or so ago I spent some time in the Redwoods. It looked just like Return of the Jedi and we slept in a hollowed out tree which was spacious, dry and comfortable. It's truly humbling to be in the midst of such giants. Thanks for sharing the pics. You're a lucky man.

Hey Mike, is that pack goofy for someone 6'4"? Can't quite find goods size specs, is it like the size of a standard jansport?

spooky--- it's a cool small pack... it fits me just fine... actually, i like it a lot... then again, i'm not 6'4.. :o

it's hydration compatible and you can also turn it inside out, and it's a stuff sack...:D

thanks for all the great comments folks... i appreciate it... i wish for BF folks lived around here...

Great pictures, it looks like you and your kids had a great time.

You sure have some great country over there.

I keep looking at those Tyson Bushcraft blades and I must admit I'm getting more and more tempted all the time !!!!!
