GEC revealed their new #33 today.

It's similar to Case's little '83 swell-center balloon-ended whittler in half-whittler form with equal ends. I like it.

I'm waiting for the Tortoise acrylic version and the bone Northfields.

Most promising.

This thing works on a lot of levels - shape, size, ebony, blade choice, shield, etc. My have to rethink my buying hiatus.

I like it I may get one after I get a Ben Hogan GEC just keeps pumpin out great and useful patterns.

nice clip blade! but the handles, with swells are not for me, they look uncomfortable to me

I'll get one if they make one with a coping secondary.

This pattern is really tempting. Very aesthetically pleasing. I really dig the railsplitter swells. However, my big hands don't do too well with smaller slipjoints. I've found that a 3-1/2" frame is as small as I dare go. The extra 1/8" really makes a world of difference. An extra 1/2" in lenght on this pattern would really put it in the running for my next knife.

But I'll tell you what, it sure is a good looking knife, and GEC quality of late is pretty darn impressive.

Interesting design.

It would be even more interesting if the 2nd blade were a Wharncliffe.

They are going to try other combinations with it; but I thought that was a good start. I would have liked a coping blade secondary, but they just used that in another 1/2 whittler #62 a few weeks ago. I think I may like the balloon ended variants a little better; but otherwise very close (a smidge shorter too).

Hopefully this will put an end to the equal end "Cuban" frame. I do expect to see the same blade configurations on this swell center frame that were done to death on the equal end over a period of time. Should be a good run.
It is a bit noticeable that this is the same frame that we elected for our last club knife.

Hi,

I would agree, a coping blade would be great for this knife. As much as I like the looks of this one, the coping blade would send it over the top.
